COVID-19 JA Response Fund Has Delivered 70,0000 Packages!

The PSOJ COVID-19 Response Fund has continued their efforts in delivering packages to Jamaicans in vulnerable communities. These vulnerable communities have been greatly impacted by the economic downturn due to COVID-19. The PSOJ have been working alongside volunteers, multiple stakeholders and our generous donors to ensure that donations are given to those who need it most.

As of August 20, 2020, $197.5 million JMD has been raised with $129 million JMD in cash and 68.5 million JMD in-kind. With the assistance of 1,209 volunteers, over 70,000 food relief packages were prepared, and delivered to help 75,000 Jamaicans in 51 communities. In addition, some of the donations were given to 46 NGOs dedicated to help the poor which has allowed for 587 health checks to be completed and 43,000 masks to be distributed.

We would like to thank all 113 of our local donors and 937 of our overseas donors we have allowed for our efforts to be made possible. We would further like to thank all of our volunteers for their 29,500 volunteer hours. These efforts would not have been made possible if it was not for your generous contributions to help us #StandForJamaica

We appreciate all of the effort and support. We will continue the work. The battle is not over!

Please spread the word and share the campaign to all those who might be interested in supporting. Every mickle mek a muckle.

We encourage you all to spread and share the campaign to all those who are interested! You can donate at https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/standforjamaica

Regular updates on the campaign results will be given weekly on standforjamaica.com, on our local CVM Television channel at 8:45 pm EST and on social media @thepsoj.

In partnership with the Council of Voluntary Social Services, United Way of Jamaica, and other stakeholders, your donations can help us to provide one package containing: canned food, fresh produce,  face masks, and sanitation supplies to provide for one Jamaican for a two week period.
