THE PSOJ COVID-19 JA RESPONSE FUND HELPING OVER 40,000 JAMAICANS IN 38 COMMUNITIES!
The PSOJ COVID-19 Jamaica Response Fund continues to facilitate donations towards preparing and delivering packages to those who have been struggling with the negative effects of COVID-19 in Jamaica with the help of our volunteers, our stakeholders, and our generous donors.
As of June 25, 2020, $180 million JMD has been raised with $125.5 million in cash and $54.5 million in goods and services by donors locally and internationally to help us reach 72% of our local fundraising target. With the assistance of 1031 volunteers, over 28,910 food relief packages were prepared and delivered to help 35,575 Jamaicans in 38 communities.
In addition, some of the donations were given to 24 NGOs dedicated to helping the poor which supported 5,978 Jamaicans including persons who are deaf or partially deaf, children living in extreme poverty, persons living with a disability, and persons living with HIV.
We thank all our volunteers from the Jamaica Defense Force and the Jamaica Constabulary Force who have done the extraordinary job of delivering packages to beneficiaries safely, even in crime-filled areas. We would also like to thank the Jamaica Red Cross for helping to organize the volunteers and prepare the packages.
Thank you for all your efforts and donations! We encourage you to spread and share the campaign with all those who are interested to donate at https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/standforjamaica. Regular updates on the campaign results will be given weekly on standforjamaica.com, on our local CVM Television channel at 8 pm EST and on social media @thepsoj. #TogetherWeWill #StandForJamaica.
