The PSOJ COVID-19 Response Fund Continues to Make a Positive Impact on Many Jamaicans in Vulnerable
The PSOJ COVID-19 Response Fund has continued to make an impact on many Jamaicans in vulnerable communities who are suffering from the economic effects of COVID-19. With your help, the PSOJ COVID-19 Fund has now been able to provide 57,872 beneficiaries with food and sanitary products, and has also allowed for an improvement in the relationship between the package delivering police force and Jamaican citizenry.
The Response Fund has raised $189 million JMD from over 1,000 local donors and overseas donors. We have now served 47 different vulnerable communities with 47,779 packages. Over 30 NGOs vulnerable populations have now been supported through the fund. Through the NGOs the fund has helped 13,654 beneficiaries, including people who are deaf or hard of hearing, children living in extreme poverty, people living with a disability, people living with HIV and displaced households and other workers.
All of these efforts have been made possible through your generosity.. We would also like to give special thanks to the Jamaica Constabulary Force who delivers packages directly into the hands of beneficiaries, our stakeholders, Council of Voluntary Social Services (CVSS), United Way of Jamaica (UWJ), American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) and our 1,141 volunteers who have contributed 21,683 volunteer hours.
Every donation of in kind, cash or time has made a significant difference. We appreciate all of your effort and support. We are still not done.
Please spread the word and share the campaign to all those who might be interested in supporting!
